Members Rey Dominguez Jr
Went to my doctor to start a therapy for my lower back pain. Consisted of 6 shots on either side and around the L4 and L5 joints and sacroiliac. Not in the joints or spine but in the soft tissue on either side. Shots were of a homeopathic solution called Traumeel. The stuff is anti-inflammatory as well as a couple other anti-something properties. But as I am typing this, the pain in my back and hip is greatly reduced, almost gone. Have to make a follow-up appt in about two weeks for another dose, but, overall, this feels promising. I am sure I will have a copay but I can easily cover that.
Members RichS
Rey: Glad that the shots are working for you. I've had one, but no luck. Now the doctor has got me on an anti-inflammatory and a pain killer. One is a permanent medication, the other to be taken for only a couple of weeks. So far, no improvement. Surgery might be my only option. 1

I also have a herniated disc at L4 and L5, and I've had it for maybe 30 years. I've had many MRIs done and the neurologist advised against surgery done on it, as it would most likely make it worse. I also know someone who had the same condition, and indeed he got worse and had to use a cane to walk. And my predicament is that I'm allergic to most NSAID medication, since I break out in hives. So, Tylenol has been my best friend. Stretches do help a bit to loosen the muscles too. Good luck with your treatment, I hope it helps you and keep us up to date on how it's coming along. 2

Moderators Popular Post KayC Posted March 27 Author Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted March 27 My positive today is that we are not on a FB platform like my diabetes group! I can't say how much I appreciate that! To have to constantly put up with FB's XXXX, I'm not talking the people either. I'm talking about their invasiveness and AI, it's insane, not to mention the never ending changes. The latest is their making us enter a six digit pin to access our messages! And a couple of friends posted scriptures and FB wouldn't show them because they were "bullying." (The lion shall lay down with the lamb?) It's insanity. Got my extra trash bag filled, it's so slow cleaning out this place but I'm determined, one bag at a time. Maybe by the time I'm 90? (I'd love to dump it on my XH's pristine lawn since most of it is his but that's a story for another day...)

Moderators Popular Post KayC Posted March 28 Author Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted March 28 Android is my cellphone (Pixel 6a they were out of 7 when I bought it, I think they have 8 out now). My positive for yesterday is I got my extra trash bag filled for pickup...old stuff from inside the storage room and garage rafters, unfortunately the plastic that was around them disintegrated into a billion pieces, got out my shop vac to clean that up, what a mess! I mean it went into 1/4" pieces everywhere! But it's done and now it's sitting in the rain outside...it rained like no tomorrow! I expected to see Noah's Ark coming down the street! 3

I mean it went into 1/4" pieces everywhere! Sorry you had to deal with that, KayC, I've had that happen with some plastic we'd bought at garage sale and used to cover an area where I wanted to kill weeds ... what a MESS! I THINK it's only certain kinds of plastic that do that though. Plastic ... humans only started using it in the 50s! as I read I think on Wikipedia. About 75 years for plastic is all ... and now we have huge weirs of it in the oceans! Time. Not much of it has passed for plastic, but man, oh man oh man! My positive for today is going out to look at the section of garden dirt I'd planted with green onion seeds ... and there the tiny hairlike green onions are! popped up! starting! Time, doing good for me in this case. Checked the snow pea space and nothing yet. Gardening (mostly vegetables), for me, is therapeutic, calming, hopeful, I THINK healthy, even memorial ... because I'd planted trees and bushes while Steve was alive, and they're budding out now; some loblolly pines are probably about 45 feet tall now, one is dying from some insect problem ... but still I can look at the trees and bushes (goumis!) I'd planted and they still carry on. 3
Members Popular Post Adriennelc
Today I have three really close friends that are staying with me. They surrounded me when Ken died and never left my side. My friend Alison was the celebrant that took the funeral and my other two helped sort out paperwork when I was hysterically going round the house and couldn't find what I needed. Members Rey Dominguez Jr
Got our taxes done this afternoon. That task is done for the year. But it was another one of those “firsts.” First time I was getting taxes done without Veronica. When I explained to the tax lady why Veronica could not be there, she was visibly saddened and her eyes teared up. So did mine as soon as I started with the explanation. Even though it was only once a year, Veronica and the tax lady always got along as though they were old friends. Tax lady pointed out next year I will file single. Sucks! 😪

Moderators KayC Posted March 29 Author Moderators Report Share Posted March 29 It has, and not always bad weather either, during the night it was fine. The predicted snow did not materialize. We had winds yesterday but I don't know aboutduring the night/early morning. Not a lot of branches down this morning though so that attests to not. I'm hoping it's not just Spectrum. I come to this thread to read the positives in peoples days but often it's along the lines of "I had a horrible day but the positive is that I'm glad it wasn't worse". I don't mean listing "positives" in terms of fake Pollyanna crap... Pretending things are fine or are better than they are isn't helpful... But... I dunno... positives in the sense of actual positives, or something... Cold and windy, left to come just in time before the rain started. Got home to our kids (sons and daughter-in-law) getting together at our home. Older son gilling a tri-tip and cooking potatoes. Was a very nice gathering. Veronica always loved having the kids get together here at home. It was nice and I appreciated the kids’ company.
