Members Popular Post shawnt
I just saw a glimpse of my sweet Suzy in the face of my granddaughter, something in the tilt of her head and smile. I have seen a small resemblance before but this was the first time it made me happy. The absolute knowledge that somewhere out there, in my son's and granddaughter are pieces of her continuing. And life goes on. 5

Members Popular Post Rey Dominguez Jr
My sisters are in town this weekend. They encouraged me to accompany them on a brunch harbor cruise this morning. I went, just for something different, and to spend time with my sisters. It was bittersweet. Veronica and I have enjoyed this brunch cruise in San Diego Bay a couple of times in the past, celebrating our wedding anniversary, and a dinner cruise with a Navy submarine reunion. But today was a nice distraction. Did some walking along the waterfront before hand because we were early, so we worked up an appetite for brunch. Had Veronica’s picture on my phone next to me the whole time. I didn’t feel as guilty as I think I might have a few months ago. Maybe that’s emotional progress of some kind. I think I am loosening some of those self-imposed restrictions on myself. But…it still, well, you know. 4

Last year I organized a night out with friends to go to a Durham Bulls baseball game. After I bought all of the tickets I questioned why I did it. I felt guilty about having a good time without Chris (she wouldn't have gone with me, anyway. She was never a sports fan). This year I'm trying to do the same thing but there's no feeling of guilt. I think its unbelievable what we do when our spouses were with us, and dont even give a second thought of should we be enjoying ourselves. However, when they go, we question ourselves constantly at "should I really be enjoying this"? A positive for me today. I was hanging the washing out to dry earlier, and took in the nice morning fresh air with a couple of breaths in and out. I looked up at the clouds and felt a sense of warmth. I am now certain my Wife is looking after our Son and I, albeit from heaven. This gives me a massive sense of comfort.

You may be correct. I was thinking I might even make some pancakes for me this weekend. Have not had any since about May of last year. Had my sisters come over to the house for dinner, along with our younger son and DIL. Our son cooked some marinated chicken on the grill while I made Veronica’s Mexican style rice. Last time my sisters were here was just short one year ago for Veronica’s memorial. Their company was nice. 4

In Ireland, well where I live, no problems with rodents, insects are the only problem but they just do surface damage. I find it interesting in America people call their gardens (yards), when I lived in England we called the back of the house "yards" too, even though most were made of concrete! In Ireland we normally call back and front both the same, a garden, well if you are lucky enough to have both. I am once of the lucky ones, well, Ive worked hard for it, so not really luck!! 29 minutes ago, Rey Dominguez Jr said: Beautiful! 😊 Thank you Rey, my faith is extremely strong. Moderators Popular Post KayC Posted Monday at 04:36 PM Author Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted Monday at 04:36 PM Iris did a disappearing act on me, I called the tire center, they had to order one, won't be in for a week. I cancelled my appt. for tomorrow so she won't have to drive on a donut. I HAVE AN APPT. WITH AN OPTHAMOLOGIST TODAY AT 4:15! It's 1 1/2 hours away. I got someone more reliable to take me. Don showed up with more materials and quoted me $2,500 or so, which I'm good with! Kodie alerter let me know he was here. I wondered, I didn't see any deer! It's a good thing I got an appt, my eyelid was about 3/4" thick this morning, eyeball big too and everything red! It's about 1/2" now, hurts like hades. Can be salmonella or fungal. 3

However #$@!! moles have convinced me to get (kill) traps; I hate killing any animal, but they have ravaged my yard Yes, it’s hard to get to that point, but when humane means have failed, there comes a time when a quick kill trap is needed. Back when we had a lawn, we had horrible problems with moles, especially because of the green space behind us. We tried every means possible, but they persisted. When the little beasts got into our flower bulb bed and started disturbing all the roots, I had enough. John agreed and got a quick kill trap. It was not pleasant, but our lily bulbs were not cheap and we spent quite a bit of care on our freesias, Dutch iris, lilies, and other bulbs. Gophers and moles are terrible this year. I don’t have too much open bed space, so I have used a repellent for several years now (time release caster oil granules; they hate it). But friends who have been having huge issues with both pests have resorted to things like The Black Hole spring loaded instant kill traps. They don’t like that it’s gotten to that point, but when gophers start taking down mature camellias and other bushes, baby fruit trees, and other valuable plants, as well as leaving dangerous holes and tunnels, there’s little else to do. The buggers eat right through metal mesh gopher barriers and the repellent only does so much when an entire yard is planted and has little hardscape. Members Bou
caught the end of this conversation. I want to ask how you go about moving gophers from your home? I don't want to kill things but I don't want them digging holes here and I noticed the little suckers are multiplying like rabbits here. I don't want to get bit or harm an animal either. Not my thing at all. For mice I got the bucket trap....works not bad. I hate snap traps make me want to throw up and I am afraid I am going to snap myself. Glue traps seem mean and they take off with the trap. This is the crap he used to take care of.....ugh ugh ugh 1

Moderators KayC Posted Monday at 06:15 PM Author Moderators Report Share Posted Monday at 06:15 PM Recently she got in at her eye doctor and I drove her in on a moment's notice 1 1/2 hours away, waited in my car with Kodie for 2 1/2 hours for her, and drove 1 1/2 hours home. I've also driven her into Eugene to get her car and she had me stop for groceries for her and never even paid for them or my gas! Again and again I've been there for her. That she could leave me hanging with something as critical as my eye, it's beyond believable to me! Yeah, post it on Jazzy's kennel, your humor doesn't escape me, good one! 1

Yes there are some amazing places to visit in Ireland, really spoilt for choice. I live on the East coast (in the Republic Ireland), which is beautiful but my favourite place to visit is the West and Connemara, Clare etc etc. No matter which direction you go though NSEW, there are beautiful things to see. A big plus is because Ireland is a small country, can visit most places over a short space of time.. Its not cheap though, well neither is anywhere really, but well worth saving up for. No, I dont work at the tourist office 🤣 I just love Ireland (and I am English too by the way).. not that it matters.
Moderators Popular Post KayC Posted yesterday at 10:40 AM Author Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:40 AM I am beyond upset with Iris. She didn't listen to her messages until last night! WTH! She well knew about our plans. She knew when I was bringing Kodie because she called and I told her! She went to sleep (at 1 pm). She later said she could have taken care of Kodie for me, umm, no thanks! So your dog can bite him when you're busy not paying attention to them? He's my service dog, he came with me. And he was good, as usual. We got home at my bedtime. I need to put hot compresses on it for ten minutes and then massage it...the duct is totally plugged from the castor oil George suggested. Nothing to do with the frog. Melissa's BF told me to put my urine on it. She texted me and said "No! Don't know anything about that." Dr. Google didn't think it a good idea either. 😮 Got a Rx from the opthamologist but he warned it can cause glaucoma, worsen cataracts, etc. I got it filled, administered one dose but am going the natural route, even though it is SO PAINFUL! My lid droops down in front of my eye.😢 Don showed up with the wallboard for the carport, will buy the metal roofing next time, I told him I need the cedar hauled to the dump, too much of a fire hazard to leave on the burn pile until fall, I'd pay him extra to haul it. Told me the supports, wallboard, and roofing will run me about $2,500. Wish he'd told me that two months ago so I could have quit stressing! He said he'd be back Friday. I ordered a magnetic rake for after Don is done, last time I got a flat tire from a nail he'd missed. I hope it comes put together. The shelves I put by the garbage & free sign? Someone got it! Everything I had there was gone. Fishing poles, reels, tackle box, line, all gone, even the rack it was stored on! Little by little getting that electrical room cleaned out! Oh and the cute little skunk I like? Woke me up twice, didn't get much sleep, but danged if he isn't cute! After Panther's food and back for the bird's food (peanuts)...makes me want to feed him but not getting that started! Kodie alerter barked at him, earned a treat both times.🥰
