Robert Ballowe, Jr. 1979-2012

When Robert was born his father an I were married and 18teen years old. We were so happy when Robbie (as we called him then) was born. He was such a happy baby. . When he was a 13 months old he started walking, or should I say running. And he never stopped til the day he died. He had so much energy. He loved to sing and dance and act and just perform for us or even strangers. When Robert was 2 and a half his brother came along and he adored him until he could crawl and walk and get into his stuff. Then he decided that he could not stand him. By the time my third son came along 3 years after the second the only thing Robert and his brother agreed on was that they both loved their younger brother. But of course they would fight on who loved him more. Robert could get his baby brother to smile and then crawl and walk to him and he use to tell his other brother "See he comes to me he loves me more." but that was Roberts' way.

Robert loved the ocean and him and his brothers went every summer because his bday was in July. He could stay at the beach all day and turn a beautiful cotton hair from the sun and bronze color. When Robert was 10 1/2 years old he and his brothers were taken from me and when he turned 18 we got back together again. But we butted heads many times. But the last three or four years we worked so hard on our relationship and we became the best of friends. He told me when I had been out there in September that I was the only person in his life (family) that loved him unconditionally. He knew I did and he felt it. I wish I had hugged him more, but I did not know how he would feel about his mother wanting to hug him alot being 32. But we did do alot of hugging.

Robert was so talented. He had degrees in skin and hair. Plus he did many peoples makeup and hair for photo shoots. He also could sew and design clothing. His biggest problem was having a hard time turning off those tapes that were playing in his head saying he would not succeed so why do it. Your no good. Things that his grandparents had told him all the years that they had him. Thank you for sharing with us the special pictures and details of your precious son's life. He was such a handsome young man. I could also see the resemblance. So many wonderful memories to cherish. I enjoyed looking at each picture and reading about Robert. I could not get the video to open. I did put the proper password in, but the problem may be with my iPad. I will try to open it when I go to my pc later. I enjoyed reading your heartwarming details. My daughter, not Rachael, but my other daughter, was a model and she used to have her hair and makeup done for photo shoots. However she is in Texas and although she did travel to locations, I don't know that she ever went to CA. I know that field is hard work, but I am sure Robert must have enjoyed it. I am so very sorry for your loss of such a fine young man. I know your heart is broken right now and I also remember what the empty ache felt like. In time you will begin to feel better and the pain will not be as intense. It has taken me a very long time, but time is the best healer. Please continue to tell us about Robert. You may even want to write your memories of him down and share them with us. We care and are here for you.
