Members Astutemarquise
Do any of you wonderful folks out there have the first, ground zero suggestion as to what to do at the very beginning when your very best friend takes their life? I want to hear it all! I am shattered, devastated and not just a little bit unqualified for this.
Members LG99
I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost a couple of very good friends to suicide. It is shocking and shattering. I think the best thing to do is just let yourself have all the emotions you are feeling, and take good care of yourself. Some 'suicide survivors' feel guilt and ask themselves if there is anything they could have done. That is a normal feeling. I also felt anger, like 'why the hell couldn't you have come to me for help' etc etc. This is all part of the process. I eventually made peace with my friends' decisions . I wish you the very best in your healing process.
