Today...a week and 3 days.

I was able to bring my Husband's ashes home today. Yesterday was bearable. Today is almost unbearable. This pain in my chest won't go away, the pit in my stomach won't go away. I don't want to move or wake up in the morning to face it all again. It's hard for me to accept that my life is now without him. That this is my new reality. All the memories crush me and I feel like I can barely breathe.

I am so sorry for your loss of your husband. You are in the hardest darkest time that there is. I just prayed to the Lord for you,...for His peace to be in you. I am over 3 months now in the loss of of my wife of 23 years. And the waves do come...and it is unbearable. But with God's grace....here I am. And you will make it through this too. You have come to the right place. The wonderful people in here understand like no one else does because they are going through this  nightmare too. But I want you to know ...you are not alone....you will make it through this. Try to relax and breathe. As you are able we in here will be happy to read about how you are doing and will be here to listen.

I am so sorry, something as big as bringing ashes home can sure make you feel that way.  My sister drove me the 65 miles down there and I remember how glad I was that she was driving, it was shock and crying for me...

We know how you feel. It's so difficult. My husband is buried next to my son in the local graveyard 5 min away from my house, but I haven't been there since I built a garden last summer at their graves. It definitely brings it all up, all the misery and loneliness. Some days are just like that. We can't cope. So maybe we have to wait until the next day, and hope to feel better. It's been a series of grieving "waves" for me, and others describe that as well. Today I had a bad depressive wave much of the day. Just waking up Sunday alone and in the rain, feeling depleted and way too alone for comfort. I miss my husband so much! His presence--.

@Laura Vence Haven't seen you here for a while....heard on the news that NY got hit with a huge snowstorm, I hope you're okay.  Rain sounds better than snow, we're going to get some today on...

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is an unimaginable horror that happens and when it happens it doesn't seem like it's real you're just living in a nightmare. But I promise the dark days will get lighter and the pit in your stomach and the heavy heart will come and go. I lost the love of my life of 37 years almost 11 months ago to COVID-19. Please know coming here was a good choice for you read all the posts that you can they seem to help me and I pray they'll help you and write when you feel like it. I am lifting you up.
