Lost my son to divorce

Dear Members

I feel so lonely and suicidal because I lost my dearest son to divorce in Y2011. I spend 10 yrs without much and proper access to him. Before divorce we used to joke and play a lot. Now when I sometimes get to meet him he is full grown 16 yo kid and doesn't call or pay attention to me much. His upbringing is in much freedom given environment which at this age can be harmful for him. As my age approaches I feel.need of him but he never calls me or talks properly to me. I feel helpless and insecure. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

I am so sorry to hear how you've been feeling and how difficult it has been without your son. It's very hard. I know many parents long to have a strong connection and bond with their child. And it's especially difficult when there's been an divorce.

Please try to talk to family therapist, social worker, grief counsellor. I hope they can connect you with the resources to help you.
