Members Popular Post ScotJ65
I lost the love of my life last November to Huntingdon's disease, she was only 54 and her death left me totally shattered. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions ever since. I usually manage my life by just taking one day at a time. However, a few hours ago when I got home, I was at my lowest ebb in months and felt like my brain was quite literally ready to burst open. I was in turmoil and just sat there with my head in my hands. I tried to weep, but could not. My strength was exhausted. Not knowing where to turn, I closed my eyes and prayed, and I mean really prayed to God to help me. Literally within 1 minute I could start to feel my heart lifting and my anguish melting away. It was as if He heard my cry, and took the weight of despair off my shoulders. The feeling was quite astonishing. I know that not everyone believes in God and am not going to preach to anyone. But He was there for me today. I just know He was. 7 1
Members tnd
I am sorry that you lost your partner and love of your life. As you will read the site you will find that losing someone so close to us like that is by far the hardest thing and the most painful. I pray a lot too. You will get a lot of moral support on here and make new friends that you can turn to on your hardest days. Everyone has helped me and has been so kind and supportive. Don't be afraid to ask questions or to talk about your grief here. We are all going through it, that is why we're here and we DO understand one another.
Members ScotJ65
Thanks tnd, I've been on this site for a long time now but took a wee break and this is my first time posting in a while. You're right, it's a wonderful place to chat and just share your feelings with other people in the same situation. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your husband. God bless. 2

Over time, my husband and I left the traditional religions in which we'd been raised. However, we kept our faith, expanded it I guess, to a more universal, overall belief that was uniquely ours. It is a tremendous act of faith to ask for help and to accept it when we can't see or hear it or have tangible "proof." Telling your own experience can be uplifting for believers and non-believers alike. I am very glad that you came and talked about it here. We can all benefit from that.
Members tnd
God was here for me today. I was able to eat and feed my 2 cats. I don't know why I am feeling so punished but I am leaving it in God's hands. I will be alright. I pray for others. 1
Members Popular Post foreverhis
@tnd I'm glad you were able to eat and feed your cats today. For those who haven't been there, it may seem like a small thing, but it's not. I am not an overt prayer most of the time, by which I mean I don't make specific prayers that often, just general prayers as I go along, but I have been praying specifically for both you and Kay lately. I know you'll be alright, but sometimes I think God needs a little, um, nudge. 4

Tnd, There should be food available in your community. A Meals on Wheels provider, a farmer's market that gives to those in need, a nonprofit that addresses food insecurity. In Tallahassee there is a group called Second Harvest that provides food to those in need. Call and explain that you have no transportation and no food. I think they will find a way to help. They may not provide cat food, but cats will eat people food. Hugs Gail 3
Members Gail 8588
Tnd, I don't know if you are near Houston, but Houston Food Bank provides food assistance in 18 counties in Texas. If they don't serve where you are, they can probably refer you to an organization that does serve your area. Gail 1

You aren't being punished although it sure feels that way! Life/death happens and nothing fair about it. You're a great person, sweet, intelligent, good, if we got what we deserved, we wouldn't be going through this. I've learned so much through what I've experienced, but oh God it's been hard! 14 hours ago, foreverhis said: I think God needs a little, um, nudge I know He hears us.

Even though I have definitely not always been happy with the results, I still send those thoughts out there (or up there or wherever they go). 1
