Members MKS
I am having a very hard time pushing aside what I saw Mom go through for 2 weeks at the Hospice House. The nurses & doctor were very kind but watching my wonderful mom wither away is not so easy to forget. I am open for any thoughts or suggestions on how I can get pass this, please. Mom and I thought she would pass away the same way as my father. He had Hospice come to the house, he was alert up till about 2 days prior to his passing. Members ModKonnie
I've watched my father and my mother-in-law wither away slowly. It is not easy, for sure. One way I got through it was to talk to them both and listen to their stories until they could not talk anymore. Then I just tried to focus on happier times and happier memories. I knew when they finally passed they were at peace. That was the most important thing I found to focus on during the final few days. Later, when I couldn't get the terrible images out of my head of those final days, I would make myself remember happy times but looking at pictures or talking to other family members. I'm no expert, but that's how I got through. We will be with you, ModKonnie
