Members UnderHis Wings
I'm scared because my husband might have a large volume abdominal tap today. They admitted him to the hospital because his blood pressure was too low. He has cancer."There is a slight chance of the needle puncturing the bowel, bladder, or a blood vessel in the abdomen. If a large quantity of fluid is removed, there is a slight risk of lowered blood pressure and kidney failure. There is also a slight chance of infection."http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003896.htmI don't want to think about this. Ignorance of the risks might have been bliss. Moderators widower2 Posted August 8, 2012 Author Moderators Report Share Posted August 8, 2012 UHW, sorry it was so hard for him, but glad there were no complications. Day at a time and all that.......as someone once told me when I was caregiving: "you're working your way to Heaven" (doing all you're doing). Don't forget to take care of yourself though!
