Members Brazil Man Posted November 28 Members Report Posted November 28 My finger was swollen so doctors removed my wedding rings in the hospital. About my wife's wedding ring after her death, doctors gave it to her sister and she refused to give it to me. I accepted the situation because she loved her sister so the wedding ring was in good hands. And about you friends... what happend to your wedding rings ? 1
Members foreverhis Posted November 28 Members Report Posted November 28 Mine is firmly on my left hand exactly as John slipped it on my finger as he said, “With this ring I thee wed.” I take it off only to shower, clean the house, and garden. (Our wedding vows were the most glorious mix of traditional and modern. Our pastor even suggested including a native American love poem, which was beautiful. The one thing I made sure of was that the vows no longer included “obey.” Our pastor chuckled and said, “No, we removed that years ago. It was archaic and, besides that, we were pretty sure most brides were saying that one with fingers crossed. We didn’t want them to have to lie.”) I wore his on a chain around my neck, along with a gold pendant he bought me once “just because” he saw me admiring it, until the day after the sixth anniversary of his death. It’s currently tucked into a zip pocket of my wallet so I can take it to a small local family jewelry shop. I am going to have the top section with its black hills gold overlay turned into a pendant early next year. I am crossing my fingers that they’ll be able to straighten that section so that it mimics a cartouche. If not, it will remain curved. It’s weird not to be wearing it, but the time felt right to me. 2

Members Sparky1 Posted Friday at 02:09 PM Members Report Posted Friday at 02:09 PM I still have our sets with me, might give them to one of the kids later on. 3
Members Dennis W Posted Friday at 07:10 PM Members Report Posted Friday at 07:10 PM I was wearing mine until just yesterday. Then I put our wedding rings and a couple other of her special rings in a plastic bag in her urn. When my time comes they will be put in a companion urn along with our remains and be with us forever. 3
Members Rey Dominguez Jr Posted yesterday at 08:59 AM Members Report Posted yesterday at 08:59 AM I have Veronica’s rings on a ring holder in our bedroom where she used to keep them for the night, so they are still there for her, as it were. When it’s my time, I’ll take them with me. I wear my ring most of the time, except for when I go walking, which causes my fingers to swell and then I have a heck of a time getting my ring off my swollen finger. 1
Moderators KayC Posted 23 hours ago Moderators Report Posted 23 hours ago Every time I see this post it hurts my heart. I lost mine during our July evacuation. I still have George's, but oh God I miss mine! I thought about having one made but it wouldn't be the one HE placed on my finger. I just feel sad. 1 2

Ours weren't the originals either. Over the years we replaced them with other ones that we liked better and the originals have been lost somewhere along the way. But the newer ones still symbolize our union even though I would have preferred the original ones. 2
Moderators KayC Posted 19 hours ago Moderators Report Posted 19 hours ago No the same though, you still got to place the second set on each other's fingers. 1
