Members Brazil Man Posted November 15 Members Report Posted November 15 All began like this: Rosana was needing English lessons and a friend of mine introduced me to her be her teacher. ( in Brazil we speak Portuguese). So I teached her some basic lessons and then she became my girfriend and months after she become my wife. And about you my friends... how did you first meet your beloved one ? 2 2
Moderators KayC Posted November 15 Moderators Report Posted November 15 I'd written a letter to the editor and it was read aloud at a Promise Keeper's Mtg and George looked up my info and wrote to me. That's where it began although we started as friends. 2 2

I can't count how many times I had an opportunity and let it slide because I had no confidence in myself at all with women. For once I took a chance. Whew 1 4
Members Rey Dominguez Jr Posted November 16 Members Report Posted November 16 I am embarrassed to say that I was initially interested in Veronica’s older sister while we were in the 8th grade. I would spy Veronica riding her bike with my sister around the park in front of my parents’ home, so I did notice her every now and then. Once I found out Veronica’s sister had a serious boyfriend, I lost interest, but I would keep seeing Veronica at house parties through common friends. So after a while I figured, why not. Went to meet Veronica at a party with an assist from my sister, and after that I started calling on her at home and had to get screened by her parents. Pretty soon, we were dating through high school, and the rest, as the saying goes, is history. 4
Members Popular Post Sparky1 Posted November 16 Members Popular Post Report Posted November 16 For me believe it or not, online way back when the internet was young and naive. We chatted online for about a week and then she gave me her number. Next day, went for coffee at her house ( her family was there of course), we both liked what we saw, and next day a full blown dinner. That was it from there, I could not live without her after that. 5
Members Bob1948 Posted November 17 Members Report Posted November 17 I love this story. I was in the U.S. Air Force and was reassigned to a base in England. One Thursday night a group of us went out pubbing. At one of the pubs, we met up with another group who were headed to a dance at a nursing hospital. When my friend and I went into the dance I met a girl all dressed in white. Since there two of us I asked her to get someone for my friend. While she was gone my friend insisted, he wanted the girl in white and I could have here friend. Since he drove, I was in a bit of a bind, but I agreed. When she returned with her friend, I couldn't believe my eyes this girl was absolutely beautiful. To this day I always believe that the girl in the white was there for us to begin our lives together. 4
Members Popular Post Jsigler1101 Posted November 19 Members Popular Post Report Posted November 19 Oddly enough I had grown up knowing his family well because my mom was close friends with his mom. However, in the years I had known them closely he was in prison. His mom had pictures of him hanging on the wall and had said he was in prison and was never coming home. I remember looking at the pictures and thinking oh my goodness how sexy and beautiful is he 🫣. However, since I was told he was never coming home, I didn't really give it much thought. Then 12 years later he sent me a friends request And I typically wouldn't accept it if I don't know the person but I accepted it. We texted, finally i asked him where I knew him from because his last name seemed so familiar and his picture. I finally realized who he was and boom it was on after that. We talked for months while he was in hours away. Then we met for the first time in person on February 10th, 2024 and these past 8 months have been the best of my life. I will forever be grateful for the love he showed me and the memories we made ❤️❤️ 5
Moderators KayC Posted November 19 Moderators Report Posted November 19 And that is the best way to look at it. It's okay to be angry with him and still love and miss him at the same time. Under the circumstances it's okay to feel both at the same time. 1
Members Popular Post Packrat Posted November 21 Members Popular Post Report Posted November 21 My Dad had given me a ragged couch for my kids to play on, but it sat on the floor, had torn fabric, and wasn't any count. I had custody of my kids from a previous marriage, and one weekend they were with their mom, my ex, so I decided to do some cleaning around the house. I was going to throw the couch away, but thought someone else might want it. I called the neighbor up the road, and she said she might know someone who could use it. She went and got Faye and brought her over to the house. I fell in love with that girl that day, and she told me later she wasn't the least bit interested in the couch. She was interested in me. I didn't know she had been living in a rent house right across the street, and had seen me out in the yard, and had been very curious who I was. The rest is history. We shared 34 years of happiness thanks to a dilapidated old couch. 1 4

Members Bee92 Posted November 22 Members Report Posted November 22 I was watching my friends kids for her so she could hang out with some dude. That’s dudes friend was sent away back to the house I was watching the kids at. He walked in the room and my heart melted, his eyes, smile, voice. I smoke weed and he saw my pipe and asked if he could hit it. Honestly I saw so much respect just from that 1 question. He fought back on me caring about him. He was already hurting before we got together, I just didn’t know how bad. He wasn’t aloud to have feeling as a child. 1 2
