Members TonyK Posted November 5 Members Report Posted November 5 I lost my brother in a fire. It has been a whirlwind the last two weeks, I have people that support me but from a distance. Not only in miles but in emotions as well. I know this is new to me, but being totally alone is second to losing my brother and best friend! When I was not working, we would take short trips, hit up different greasy spoons along with the Applebee's, Olive Gardens, and TGIFs. Maybe just sit at home and catch a movie and a pizza. Robert had been in and out of the hospital for the last year after contracting RSV. Then had sepsis. He kicked it all and had to have O2 continuously. His downfall was that he smoked. With all of the warnings, he still chose not to quit. I got him a vape and he would use it sometimes. Especially in bed. Well, from what we can tell, he was smoking while getting dressed and possibly dropped his cigarette that burned through the O2 tubing. This set off a series of events that trapped him in his bedroom. 1
Moderators KayC Posted November 5 Moderators Report Posted November 5 I had a sister that smoked too, my other sister was paying for her cessation patches but instead of wearing them she smoked. She died in her sleep sitting up in her easy chair, wouldn't stop smoking, wouldn't take her BS (Diabetic), both contributed. We can't make them quit. I am so sorry for your loss. 1
