I started with WaltC and ustwo.  I have 28,500 posts.  It is so sad, I knew this day would come but sure didn't know it'd be so abrupt.  All of the articles and helps all these years...gone with it.

I'm surprising reading the news by mail...! I'm so sorry Kay... I still don't learn to accept the bad changes...this site provided me the comfort to share the unbearable pain to lose my soulmate! It was and is an important help....yes it is so sad!

I've since found it isn't closing until Jan. 1. I also learned about a site that can access the archives...you have to register there.
web.archive.org

Not sure how it all works, will worry about that when the time comes.

And I've learned we still have access to her articles through her blog, which she's keeping open for now.  That was a huge relief.

Hey Kay

Im a little bewildered, have we lost our posts in losing our pets,I’ve been looking for it but can’t find it.For me checking how many people had looked at my Lulu’s story sort of kept at least her memory alive.

??? Do you mean this web site or another?

It must be this website. For the past several months I’ve been googling grieving.com and it went straight to the Loss of Pets Forum,I then just had to scroll down and I would find my post. But now it’s seems to have gone. All the posts seem to be mixed up with each other and they don’t appear to have the recently viewed number anymore.

No, it's griefhealing.com, 19+ years I've been there, I've only been here 8 1/2 years.

I experienced my first site who changed and cancel all the posts...and huge knowledge about grief was wasted!

I was a new one in grief and the posts of the others was a needed key to navigate in the nightmare!

And now the same with this site...it's really sad!!😔

Hang in there with this site, Roxanne, I don't think they're going anywhere, the admin. are young, it has a lot of traffic.  GriefHealing's site was in a very different situation.  It's a shame.

Yes, it is GriefHealing not grieving.com

I just found out after doing what she said for hours to preserve the first four years that it won't work.  There is no way to save our posts. Maybe if you have under 100, but I had 28,500.

Is there no way to remain in contact with your friends by mail ? It's easy and less the pain....

I wrote one I've corresponded with, she isn't on FB and gave her my email address, didn't hear back. She doesn't see well. We lost a prominent member 1 1/3 years ago and I had her contact info, email, name, address, never heard back from her. Even filed a police report and looked for obituaries.  Called hospitals. One said she'd been released but couldn't say to what care center. She'd taken in someone to help take care of her and it was NOT a good situation, wouldn't surprise me if she took away her laptop and cellphone.  Told police that. She had no one so no one to look out for her.

Trying to save what I can, only has mine, not others, have 1 1/2 years saved and spent hours at it.

Drove over an hour to urgent care, been at this since 8 am.  Eye.
