Members holyboiledcabbages Posted September 8 Members Report Posted September 8 Some realise they cant manage the sadness, so might as well push yourself in your career with all you got(overachiever) Some cant manage the sadness so they give up(basketcase) Some like me realize that i can actually manage the sadness if i put a bit lesser effort and care in studying but focus primarily on keeping mental health in a good state and survive (according to society's perception of me, im the same as before but my internal mental strength is now a LOT higher cause i literally faced the worst) I dont think how someone will end up is purely a function of how intelligent they are, definitely theres some elements in other factors in play, like a combination of how others happened to treat you during that time and how you happened to react to it can drastically influence your life cause it can really stick in your brain There's already very little progress in research about grief, most studies just show correlations - "when he talks about his dead parent, this part of the brain is triggered 80% of the time" kinda studies, so i know what i asked doesn't actually have an answer, which is why its generally advised to: 1) take things one day at a time 2) survive which is what most people do. This is generally the best approach one can take, only possible downside it has is the lack of a long term plan for yourself, which can take or not take a backseat depending on many factors What do you guys think? 1
