Growing up I loved listening to both of my parents' favorite music compared to friends at school who only cared about mainstream pop songs at the time. I recently made a playlist of some my mother had on CDs and cassettes. This may have been a bit too soon for me to do though as I ended up crying so much hearing them again. Trying to see it as cathartic.

Here's a couple that keep playing in my head for days:

- "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce

- "Arthur's Theme" by Christopher Cross

I'd really like to know what your mother or father used to listen to. I hope this brings back good memories of your time together. 🕊

My dad listened to OLD country records...until one day my mom got mad at him and broke them all.  It broke his heart.  I remember the record player was wind up and had a speaker with a horn sticking up/over it.

I'm sorry this brought up a sad memory, KayC. But I'm sure he loved his music. Gramophones are amazing, I may have seen one at a garage sale once and it still played fairly well.

My upbringing is a sad memory, that said, we can't just shut them all away.  I've learned to carry it.  My dad's been gone 42 1/2 years, my mom for 10.

Thanks for sharing, friends. My dad loved gospel songs, especially the hymns. Not even a day passes by without his memory. Hugs to you both.
