Members MioIsMeowing Posted July 22 Members Report Posted July 22 There was this female stray cat I've been feeding for around 6 months in my boarding house. She was so picky on what food I gave her and she was so thin. I brought her to a vet before and the vet said that she has trouble breathing and prescribed some meds which I can't provide because I'm just a college student, far away from home. One day, a shelter owner told me to spay her so she won't get raped by the male cats around. The owner also offered the shelter to be my cat's new home. So, I sent her there, the owner told me that she looked healthy and gained some weight and was ready to be spayed. The next day, the owner sent me a picture of her in a veterinary, she is dead. When the vet injected anesthesia to her, she couldn't breathe unconsciously and died. It's been a month and I still feel guilty of it. I could have earn some money to cure her illness. I could have make her life better but I ruined it. I live in a small room and I can still feel her presence here but I can't touch her and I can't hear her cute meows anymore. 1

Thank you so much for your respond, I really need it. No, they did not intend to put her sleep. They anesthetized her for spaying surgery and she couldn't breathe unconsciously. We were too late in knowing that she has been breathing "consciously" for her whole life due to her unknown illness. For that reason, I've been thinking of how difficult it was for her to breathe while sleeping and she was very good on hiding it 😔 1 1
Moderators KayC Posted July 22 Moderators Report Posted July 22 I have heard that before when an animal isn't in good health. Poor little baby! But you did your best by her and had no way of knowing it would go this way. Forgive yourself even as our animals instantly forgive. 1
