Members LisaG Posted July 13 Members Report Posted July 13 I just lost my himilayan after 15 years of love and devotion. When ever I was upset or in pain he would be by my side. I suffer chronic pain and this was a huge help to have my buddy by me side. He greeted me at the door and was so amazing family called him cat dog. We have another himilayan who is nice, but not he hides from grandkids and is a typical cat. Nice, but only comes when called and doesn’t cuddle. I am heartbroken. I read a ragdoll cat can be an emotional support cat. Is it possible I will find this connection again? 1
Moderators KayC Posted July 13 Moderators Report Posted July 13 Not the exact same one perhaps, but something wonderful. I lost my soulmate in a dog five years ago and 4 1/2 months later my 25 1/2 year old Kitty. My son found me a sweet little puppy, Kodie, nothing like my Arlie but so sweet and well behaved! He is my service dog. He helped me with my grieving over Arlie. He's not goofy like Arlie, but he is always by my side and never runs off! I love them both and have often told him about his older brother. Arlie was 140 lbs, Kodie 27...he was conceived when Arlie died and born on my birthday and when my son sent me a video and pictures, the name Kodie popped into my head. When my son got to my house with him, he tossed down the paperword and collar & tag...his name was...Kodie. Over two years ago we adopted a feral, nothing like my Kitty or Miss Mocha, but we have a relationship with him nonetheless, and him and Kodie realize it and love each other. Praying you find another special cat. Comfort for Grieving Animal Lovers
Members AJWCat Posted July 17 Members Report Posted July 17 I am so sorry. You will absolutely find the connection again but it will be different. Not better but not worse. Treasure what you had. But it's good you are open to loving again. There are so many cats in need who would love to be loved. 1
