Three weeks ago I loss my baby girl, she was a large German Shepherd with hip dysplasia  since she was 6 months old and she was 8 1/2 yrs old when she passed. We relocated (driving an RV) to another state and it took us 7 days to get there.  She passed 6 hours after we arrived to our destination.  She was on medication and I kept forgetting to give them on time or at all. I know she was in a lot of pain but I had to sell my house and drive there by myself.  I was so exhausted all the time.  I feel so guilty because I didn’t do what a mama should have have done.  I even forgot to take my own meds on a daily basis through the last month.  I can’t get rid of my guilt feelings that I killed her.  I loved my girl so much.  I took her to swimming therapy an hour away so she could walk better.  How do I say I’m sorry to her.

I am so sorry for your loss!  Welcome here, it helps to voice your feelings, helps to sort them out.  Just tell her, talk out loud to her, or write her a letter, but I do recommend telling her out loud.

You can rest assured your baby is at peace now...

The what ifs blame game happens to most of us going through early grief, it did me when my husband died nearly 19 years ago...it's not that we are guilty of anything but loving them, and the truth is feelings are not facts, but it's that we can't wrap our heads around what happened, and our mind is trying to find some different possible outcome so it searches all the what ifs...

Thank you for the poems and quotes.  They did help especially the Rainbow Bridge video.  I hope she forgives me when I see her again.
