Members my surprise Posted June 1 Members Report Posted June 1 I lost my daughter recently to a drunk driver going over 100 mph . She was on her way to work and this man took her from me . He didn't survive either but his wife knew. I am mad at him and my faith is being questioned because I don't understand why God let this happen . I am falling apart but have a wife and another daughter who need me but I'm having problems being there for them . I don't know what to do . 2 1
Moderators widower2 Posted June 1 Moderators Report Posted June 1 I'm so terribly sorry for such a senseless loss. I hope and think that you and your wife and daughter will ultimately help each other through this, impossible as it may seem now. Dealing with a loss takes time; allow for that. Meanwhile, I hope the site can help you in some way; I think it's a great group of people here. 1

Moderators KayC Posted June 1 Moderators Report Posted June 1 I am so sorry! It's horrible that someone could do that. Your loss is irreplaceable. 😞

Members my surprise Posted June 1 Author Members Report Posted June 1 Today has been a hard day . I was awake part of the night breaking down. I get up and everywhere I turn are memories of her . I wasn't the best dad or husband and now with her there is nothing I can do about it . I prayed to her I would be better with her mom and sister . She could always put a smile on my face even after arguments , she always made everyone smile . I always thought it would be me to die first and my wife and kids would grieve me to a certin point I never thought it would be one of my kids to leave first. I don't know how to begin to accept living the rest of my time without her . I only have a few friends but I can't bring myself to try and talk with them. Most of the time everything I do ends up with me wanting to curl up in a ball and cry. I don't know how people go on with their lives . 1

Members my surprise Posted June 3 Author Members Report Posted June 3 Well another heartbreaking day .Everything we've done today has reminded me she's not here . I carry her in my heart but I miss her being down here with us. I keep thinking all she needed was 10 seconds and she would still be with us . We were discussing how we need to keep her fiancee in our circle but it's hard when we make him sad and he makes us sad . I told her I would keep checking on him and I have even though it's hard. We still have to get her stuff but we are not able right now because it will be another reminder it's real and not a bad dream . They were all planning a family trip in August and they were all excited and planning how we would go here and there . We are still going to go but it's going to be so hard without her even though we know she would want us to and for us to have fun . God why did you do this to us ????? 1

Members MistyN Posted July 10 Members Report Posted July 10 So sorry for your loss..Take your time to grieve and let yourself be in the moment or to avoid the moment if you want too. Things will never be the same, it'll always feel empty, but you will eventually carry the pain better. 1
