Eye appointment

Just made my annual eye appointment, something that my husband and I did together and I fell apart. I just don't know why I can't seem to get it together after 8 months! Something as simple as making an appointment made me lose it, why? I love him so much and miss him with all my heart, this just seems like a very cruel thing to put us through. Why does love have to hurt so much?

Lost7, it has been over two years for me and I still break down!  There is nothing wrong with you that you van't  seem to "get it together."  It is the hardest thing ever and I agree with you that it is cruel.  I don't know why we have to endure such a horrible loss.  I also love and miss my husband so much that is hurts every minute of the day.  I have to suppress the hurt to do what I have to do, but the hurt is still there and comes back to me as soon as I'm done.  I wish I had words of encouragement but, so far, I haven't found any relief.  It's just good to share with others who understand.

Lost7, my husband always took me to the eye doctor, so I wouldn't have to drive because my eyes were dilated.  It will be two years in October that I lost my love.  I miss him every day.  My girlfriend took me to the eye doctor this past year and I cried remembering how my hubby always took me and was always there for me. I wish you peace.  Hugs...

It is truly disheartening to hear that after 2 years you are still suffering so much. I know I wake up everyday hoping that I can have some sort of relief from the grief that I feel. I guess all we can do is just keep pushing forward.

Yes it is true I could always count on my husband/best friend for everything! I would always call him first for any thing that I needed. I am lifting you up praying for peace for you as well.

One thing I have found over the years about eye appointments...I live 60 miiles away and have no one to drive me now that my husband is gone.  (Oddly enough we were going through eye appts. at the time he died.)

At my new eyeplace, Eyes of the World, they have an option of not putting the drops in your eyes to examine them, but it costs $20 extra (ins. doesn't cover) and yet it is well worth it.  They have state of the art equipment and are able to look into our eyes with their equipment and see everything clearly, it's amazing, they can even show me afterwards what they find.  So well worth askiing about this option if you do not have a driver..
