Members immadane Posted January 7, 2021 Members Report Posted January 7, 2021 I went for a vacation back home in India for a month and returned to the US on Dec 30 and received the heart breaking news of my father passing away due to a sudden heart attack on New Year’s Eve. I still haven’t come to terms with this sudden loss and acceptance for the fact that 1 day before he dropped me and hugged me at the airport . I am in severe trauma and unable to process what has just happened. I want to go back home but can’t gather the energy to do so . Terribly heartbroken.
Members BEQUET93 Posted January 8, 2021 Members Report Posted January 8, 2021 Your loss is very recent and, especially in the first days, shock is common. Given that your father's passing was unexpected, it is even more understandable that you would be in shock. It can take time to come to terms with the loss of a parent and, even then, things can feel bizarre. The world as you always knew it is no more and that is a very big fact to process. Please be patient with yourself and hopefully you will soon feel up to travelling to India to visit with your family. Please accept my condolences and my best wishes to you and your family.
