Moderators KayC Posted October 10, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted October 10, 2020 Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, I fell while running on asphalt...the asphalt won. I landed on my cheekbone and my knee, got my hands that already need surgery badly, tweaked my back & shoulder, toe, arm, and broke my glasses...then when I went out of town to the dermatologist and my doctor to check my injuries, someone did a hit and run on my car in the parking lot, no surveillance. It was one of those days Long day! The swelling originally stuck out an inch and was several inches long...knee not looking good either.
Members foreverhis
Oh no! Oh, Kay, I hardly have words to say how much my heart hurts for you right now. That looks incredibly painful. Did the doctor give you any pain meds? I'd think you would need some! And then to have someone hit and run on your car. If I swore in public (which I try not to do), I'd write some really juicy words right now. I think maybe it's time for me to have that little "chat" with God about how much He thinks you can and should be able to handle. I mean, come on--Enough is enough! I'm sending you warm, comforting virtual ((HUGS)))
Members Yoli
Oh Kay. That is one bugger of a day. I can only imagine just how much you want George there looking after you. You are probably sore all over today. And the car, well there are some real dicks out there.
Members Beverly Graham
I'm so sorry for the incredibly horrible day you had, dear Kay. I hope you were prescribed some meds for the pain, because I can only imagine how much pain you felt all over. I'm sorry about your car too...some people are just the worst! Members Perro J
That is nothing short of terrible. I am sorry that happened. While I cannot guarantee it - I would make a wager that today will be better. Just get through it!
Members Missy1
Noooo, I am so sorry Kay, you are the strongest lady I know! Life can really throw us some big challenges, looks like you took very hard fall. I hope you are resting and recovering. I am sending prayers and positive thoughts for you. I can’t believe someone did such a crappy thing hit you car and not take responsibility, makes me angry. You just didn’t need more on your plate. These times when we feel so vulnerable are when we really wish we had our love by our side. I hope you you have an angel by your side, you deserve some goodnesses. Members Gail 8588
Kay, I am so sorry you had such a calamitous day! I had a much less serious tumble a month ago and it took me several weeks before my sprained ankle recovered. I couldn't help but feel my fall would not have even happened if John had been alive as he would have been taking care of the dogs (that inadvertently caused my fall). And even if I had fallen, he would have helped me deal with life while I recovered. I hope someone can help you for the next few weeks. Dealing with the car issues is another headache. So sorry this all happened to you. Hugs Gail

Members ccoflove
I'm so sorry you are hurt and to have your car hit on top of it adds insult to injury - just not fair! So sorry. Wishing you healing.
Moderators KayC Posted October 11, 2020 Author Moderators Report Share Posted October 11, 2020 No, they don't prescribe pain meds anymore. I haven't had any relief given for my hands either, and it's been constant pain for 7 1/2 months! 15 hours ago, Perro J said: While I cannot guarantee it - I would make a wager that today will be better. I had to smile at this...yes, yesterday went better than the last couple of weeks have gone. Debating whether or not to go to church today or stay home and ice/rest. Thank you all for your caring wishes...I hope George is looking out for me, if he is, he must have been taking a break, but seriously, maybe he cushioned the fall (although it didn't feel like it), at least I didn't break anything! I kept thinking about this: (one of my favorite children's books! My daughter and I went and watched the play after George died, at the U of O, I think it was the first time I smiled after his death!
