Members Billie Rae Posted April 4, 2019 Members Report Posted April 4, 2019 So there is only one road to go to work on,its a small one lane residential street and last month there was a house torn down and the carpenters have started framing the new one and it HURTS I drive by and see the guys in their tool belts low on their hips and hear the saws and nail guns and remember all the jobs I went on with Charlie, his boss had a house on the beach and he only wanted Charlie to do his work so on summer weekends we would go and he would work and I would run the dog on the beach. So now every morning I have to go to work early because watching them building this house makes me have to pull over and sob and hurt.I hope they finish in a hurry. I also see the jobs he designed all around our valley. He left his tangible “work” all over. It makes me sad but I know he was proud of what he did, that he helped build something that would last a long time.

I feel this way about every place I go to in my home town now. No matter what I do, from grocery shopping to getting some cold tea from my favorite place, it just reminds me of what we used to do. It’s torturous sometimes
