Members ItsMrsLevine
My Mom passed away last September 21, 2018.. And while i’m dealing with my loss, as the eldest of the fam— i am also taking care of my Dad and Brother. I need to be strong for them, even if it means i have to set aside my own grieving heart. i miss my Mom a lot..
Members GlobalNomad
I'm glad you're here on the forum. Please don't set your grief aside. I lost my mom last summer, and it's been super hard. I've found that grief doesn't really go anywhere; you can hide it but it grows in the dark. I am a single parent and have 3 boys. I first tried to be strong for them, especially because there is no one else, but finally decided it was OK to grieve together. And I think that shared experience has made the relationships stronger, not just among us but between them and their late grandmother. We can now all share her stories without tears. We can celebrate her life with happiness (yes, still mixed with sorrow, but at least it's mixed). I guess my point is, it's hard to figure out things when you are swallowed by the pain of loss, but maybe there is a way you can all grieve together?
