Members Popular Post LMR
I had the tv on last night. Not really paying much attention but this ad came on that basically just seemed to be saying "be nice". I was intrigued and looked up the web site: passiton.com. It really was just about spreading a little happiness. No-one was asking for money. Although I was feeling very sad myself I was happy to know that there were people just thinking about making someone smile. So many people seem full of hatred these days it was nice to see the other side. 5
Members tnd
I will have to look up that site. Thank you for sharing it, LMR! I still believe that there are good people in this world, we just don't get to hear of them or see them like we should. It's all about the dark and the evil these days. Until someone like you sees a web site and shares it with us! Thank you!
Members Popular Post foreverhis
Here's a little story to maybe make you smile. A few days after John died, I was at the grocery store for the first time. It was crying as silently as possible. The night I came home from the hospital alone, I had discarded as much as possible related to his cancer, but there were a number of unopened and not inexpensive items that I decided to return. I got to the register and waited my turn. The checker was a woman who is...challenging...under the best of circumstances. I explained the situation and that I no longer had my receipts. She gave me a hard time about it, policy, and blah-blah-blah, whereas other checkers who know us would not have. I simply couldn't stand it and started crying again. At that point, she finally did the return and finished my order. I was a wreck. As I was walking to the car with my puny bag of groceries just for me, head down and tears going, I felt a tap on my shoulder. A woman I'd never met handed me a beautiful bunch of peach roses and said, "I was behind you in line and heard what you said. I'm so sorry. I think you need these." I was stunned. I thanked her and told her it meant a lot to me. She smiled and wished me well on my journey. I never saw her again, even though we live in a fairly small community of 10,000. Perhaps there are angels among us. 4
Moderators KayC Posted August 22, 2021 Moderators Report Share Posted August 22, 2021 I'm glad she did that and that you have a picture to remind you of that kindness. I love the kindness rocks people paint. They can brighten anyone's day and some of us really need it.
