Members ani1985
I went on a 2 week vacation in Europe, and my coworker was going to check on my cats. She was posting pictures of my Gingy always, telling me he is so friendly. I was actually getting worried about my other cat because she said she was not coming out. About 4-5 days before my arrival she said he was wet. I asked if was from water fountain or pee…the next day she said pee. I told her i hope is not a UTI but also was hoping was just one accident. She told me a few days later that he is sad. I should have thought that was a sign of him not being well and asked her to send him to vet. But thought maybe he was sad because he missed us. I received a call at airport that she found him dead. I have been crying and stilL crying because i feel this might have not happened if was Here or if just thought of telling her to send him to vet. She said she checked on him eveyday and didnt looK sick except when she told me when He was feeling sad. My other cat is ok and did not get along with her brotheR after i spayed/neutered both. I miss him so bad and i feel so guilty. I miss him purring, i miss His cuddles. Oh God i feel sO guilty
Moderators KayC Posted August 2, 2021 Moderators Report Share Posted August 2, 2021 I am so sorry. This is everyone's worst nightmare. Our pets are our life and it seems others don't care/understand quite the same as we do as we are the ones that know them best and live with them, love them. No one should have to come back to this scenario. (((hugs))) I would think she would have TOLD you she suspected he was sick, needed a vet! I do want to say that our pets are the first to forgive, before we even ask, they know we love them, but I also know it's hard to talk ourselves out of guilt feelings. No matter how/when they go, we feel so horrible and go through all of the "what ifs" in an effort to find a different possible outcome...only there is none save the one that happened. http://www.griefhealing.com/comfort-grieving-animal-lovers.htm A Dangerous Villain: Guilt http://www.pet-loss.net/guilt.shtml http://www.griefhealing.com/article-loss-and-the-burden-of-guilt.htm https://www.griefhealingblog.com/2019/08/pet-loss-when-guilt-overshadows-grief.html https://www.griefhealingblog.com/2017/07/pet-loss-when-guilt-goes-unresolved.html I hope this short video brings you some comfort and peace.
