Hello Hope B,

I'm the foster parent of two little boys that I'm looking forward to adopting. Their birth mother allowed her boyfriend to abuse them, and she lost custody of them. They often talk about the abuse they suffered. Meanwhile, their birth mother is on Facebook posting pictures of herself with her boyfriend, the abuser. Just like my two little boys, I often wonder why she would allow this to happen. The children only know their mother by her first name. They don't know her as a loving parent. However, I try to show them the love that they never knew and provide a safe home for them to live in. I pray with them, and I help them to see that they are surrounded by love. That love includes that given by our heavenly Father, Jesus and the angels. Although you never knew your birth mother, you can be assured that she loved you enough to give you life. The Bible also tells us at Psalm 27:10 "Even if my own father and mother abandon me Jehovah himself will take me in." Whatever emptiness that you may be experiencing in your heart can be filled with God's love. By reading the bible daily, God will draw closer to you. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.”— James 4:8
