When my brother passed away, I wanted to do the same but I did not want to do something typical like "R.I.P." or his birth and death date. Since he was very into video games and Nintendo was his favorite, I decided to do his name as a Nintendo logo. So if you are planning on doing something similar for a loved one you have lost, think of something they loved in life, and find a way to incorporate it.
