Members Heart, beat again
January 3 seems like yesterday but also forever ago. Our wedding date is coming up quick... September 23 2017 was supposed to be one of the best days of my life.. I'm having a very hard time lately again. Some days are good, some days I just want to die. I truely don't know these days.... Moderators KayC Posted August 22, 2017 Moderators Report Share Posted August 22, 2017 I was just addressing this subject with someone else, rituals can often be of help when facing a special event, whether it's their birthday, anniversary of death day, wedding date, Valentine's, etc. These might give you some ideas...http://www.griefhealingblog.com/2011/02/grief-rituals-can-help-on-valentines.html http://www.griefhealingblog.com/2012/05/coping-with-anniversary-reactions-in.html http://www.griefhealingblog.com/2014/06/in-grief-dreading-anniversary-date-of.html
Members Eagle-96
The special dates are difficult and might be for quite some time. They are the days that were meant to be shared with the ones we chose to be a part of us. It's the memories of days past and also the sadness that new memories won't be made. Have you made plans to honor the day with close friends and family. It doesn't have to be elaborate. It can be as simple as releasing a lantern or balloon. I'm not saying that's the answer but being around those that loved and cherished my wife is good therapy for me. Just do whatever seems right in your heart and that can include doing nothing at all.
