Loss of my dear father-in-law

It will be one month since my husband's dad passed away suddenly on the 24th. It seems like this has been our way of life always, yet in the same breath it's all so fresh and new. And painful. Very painful. I was so close to him, we always picked on each other, always goofed off. He loved laughing and being silly. He was close to me like a dad. And such a great "papaw" to my kids. His grandkids were his life! The world revolved around them. He had a major stroke November 2014, and were thinking he had another one in his sleep. His family misses him so so much. Lord it's so hard! I grieve for me but also for my husband whose just 31, and now he's without his dad. I grieve for my sweet kids who cry and long for their papaw again. I wish he was still here.....

Meggie_potluck,

I am very sorry to hear about you and your family's pain. Your father in law sounds like a wonderful man who loved his family very much. I guess part of loving someone so much means we will grieve them just as hard. Cherish the memories of him and share them with each other when you can. It may bring you some comfort as well.

This message is to convey my deepest sympathy for you, and your family at this time of great grief. The lost of a family member is a traumatic event, that shakes us to the core. I am participating in a volunteer work, and reaching out to loved ones who are suffering thru this lost, and providing an upbuilding bible message of hope.

A scripture that brings comfort, is found at Rev 21:3,4 which reads " The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Since death is all around us we can appreciate that this is a future hope. But can this really take place? note what verse 5 reads "Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful* and true."

If you would like to hear more good news about the future, please inquire of Jehovah's Witnesses the next time they visit, or visit our website www.jw.org where you will find many more encouraging bible truths.

My condolences.
