In the last 4.5 years , I have had multiple losses, one after another, with no time to recover in between. in the summer of 2011, I was diagnosed with a serious advanced cancer, for which i was successfully treated with chemo & radiation. I returned to work too soon, mostly because I needed to lead a normal life. During my treatment, my only exposure to the outside world was with others with cancer

My reality at that time was that it was normal to have cancer.

in 9/2011, my daughter moved out to start college out of state (empty nest #1)

Then in October 2012 I lost my Dad due to complications from a traumatic fall.He passed away the morning of Super storm Sandy, we couldn't have a wake, as the funeral home was flooded. The church had no electricity. My Dad meant the world to me, he was the last of my blood relatives, My Mother passed in 1995, and my sister passed from cancer in 1988.(she was only 29 years old)

In Feb 2013, my Father-In-Law passed away after a long illness.

2 weeks later, I became severely dehydrated and was admitted to the hospital during which time I suffered a stroke, which left me unable to use my left side and affected my speech. I underwent in patient rehab for months to try to regain function..I continued rehab in my home, then as an out patient, My husband was with me all the way.

This past Fall (9/2014) my son moved out  to start college (empty nest #2)

I lost my my job shortly after my stroke, my  company, which was privately owned was taken over by a corporation who did not have my job title in their work model.

In May of 2014, my husband passed away from cancer, which was diagnosed too late (he never had any symptoms) he passed away 7 weeks after he was diagnosed. (empty nest >
Now I'm home alone for the first time in 27 years.

Me & my family never had time to really grieve since all these things happened one after the next.  My children are doing okay, very protective of me. come home almost every weekend to help me).,

I am so depressed, I don't want to go on.  i can't drive because of my stroke, have no job. I am stuck in the house & feel like a prisoner,

I can walk outside with a walker, which fatigues me so much, sometimes I'm not sure it's worth it... I am stuck in the house during inclement weather.

I am wondering if anyone in this group has had to deal with multiple issues in a short time and is alone @ home?  I would very much appreciate any response.

Thank you
